M. H. Crutchfield (1947–1953）

The cooperative’s first General Manager, M. H. Crutchfield guided Farmers’ Association through its formative years, helping establish the organization and laying the foundation for future growth.

Kermit C. Ross (1953–1954）

Appointed General Manager in 1953, Kermit C. Ross led the cooperative during a period of early organizational growth before his employment ended in October 1954.

Dewey Leggitt (1954–1962）

Following Ross, Dewey Leggitt became General Manager and led the cooperative through continued expansion and operational development during the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Bob Caviness (1962–January 1963）

Bob Caviness served as General Manager for a brief period following Leggitt’s first tenure.

Bob Davis (January 1963–September 1963）

Bob Davis served as General Manager during 1963 before another leadership transition later that year.

Raymond Osborn (September 1963–December 1963）

Raymond Osborn served as General Manager for several months in 1963 during a period of organizational transition.

Dewey Leggitt (Second Term: December 1963–October 1972）

Dewey Leggitt returned as General Manager in December 1963 and provided nearly nine additional years of stable leadership. During his combined tenure, he played a significant role in the cooperative’s continued growth and development.

Jack Story (October 1972–December 1987）

Jack Story assumed the role of General Manager in October 1972 and successfully led Farmers’ Association for approximately 15 years, continuing the cooperative’s growth and strengthening its operations throughout Central Arkansas.

Danny Naegle (January 1, 1988–September 30, 2024）

Danny Naegle was hired on December 15, 1987, and assumed the role of General Manager on January 1, 1988. When Danny became General Manager, Farmers’ Association operated from a single retail location. During his more than 36 years as General Manager, he led one of the most significant periods of growth in the cooperative’s history. Under his leadership, Farmers’ Association expanded to six retail locations and added a second feed mill in Bald Knob, Arkansas, significantly increasing the cooperative’s ability to serve members and customers throughout Central Arkansas.

As he prepared for retirement, Danny was a key part of the cooperative’s leadership succession plan, helping ensure a smooth transition to the next generation of leadership while maintaining the cooperative’s commitment to its members, employees, and communities. Even in retirement, Danny continues to support Farmers’ Association by serving as a consultant when needed, providing valuable knowledge and insight gained through his decades of leadership and experience.

Michael Haynes (October 1, 2024–Present）

Michael Haynes originally joined Farmers’ Association in May 1999. In December 2004, he joined River City Seed, where he remained until February 2009 before returning to Farmers’ Association. Since his return, he has served in several leadership positions, including Assistant Manager, Store Manager, Chief Operating Officer, before assuming the role of General Manager on October 1, 2024. He continues the cooperative’s tradition of member service while building on more than 75 years of farmer-owned success, focusing on preserving the cooperative’s history while positioning Farmers’ Association for continued growth and long-term success.
